On 22nd January 2023, Bandhilki Social Foundation organized a voluntary cleanliness and restoration drive at the historic Ajintha Hostel, Milind College Campus, Nagsenvan.
Founded under the vision of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, Milind College and its hostels have played a significant role in providing educational opportunities to thousands of students from marginalized and economically weaker backgrounds across the region. For decades, the Ajintha Hostel served as a home for students pursuing higher education and striving for a better future.
Recognizing the deteriorating condition of the hostel and the need to preserve this historic educational space, Bandhilki Social Foundation appealed to alumni and well-wishers to participate in a collective shramdaan (voluntary service) initiative.
Responding to this call, former and current students of People’s Education Society came together to undertake cleanliness and maintenance activities within the hostel premises. The initiative reflected a shared sense of responsibility towards preserving the educational legacy envisioned by Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar and strengthening community participation in the protection of historic institutions.
The drive served as a reminder that educational institutions are not merely buildings, but symbols of social transformation, opportunity, and collective progress that deserve to be preserved for future generations.
